Patient Roster - Sorting and Filtering
There are a few different ways to sort and filter the patient roster:
- Quick Filters: pre-set filters for different phases
- Column Sorting
- Filters: advanced filter based on more specific criteria (e.g. care plan, provider, last status)
- Quick Search: allows you to enter the patient ID, first name, last name, etc.
- Advanced Search: allows you to search for a patient on additional parameters (e.g. email)
Note: Seamless saves your sorting/filtering settings for ease of use. Whenever you return to your patient roster, it will be in the last setting you have selected.
Quick Filters
- Use the quick filters at the top of the patient roster to the left to see patients in different phases of their care journey:
| Quick filter | Description |
| Show all | Shows all enrolled patients (active or completed). Note: this filter excludes opt-out patients |
| Pre-op | Shows patients who are currently active in the pre-op phase (before surgery/procedure) |
| In-hospital | Shows patients who are currently active in the in-hospital phase (had surgery/procedure, but haven’t entered or passed their discharge date) |
| Post-discharge | Shows patients who are currently active in the post-discharge phase (i.e. they have entered a discharge date on Seamless) |
| Archived | Shows patients who have completed their care plan (e.g. post-discharge 30+ days) |
| No procedure date | Shows patients without surgery/procedure dates |
| Opt-out patients | Shows patients who have opted out of Seamless if documented in Seamless |
Note: these are the quick filters on the surgical roster. Other rosters, such as the chronic roster, may have different preset options.
Filters
Use this filter to perform more advanced filtering, such as based on the care plan the patient is enrolled in, the provider they are enrolled under, the recommendation they received from their most recent health check survey, and more.
- From the patient roster, click the "Filters" button on the top right.
- Select the filters to apply (more than one can be selected):

- Click "Apply Filters".
Column Sorting
To sort the columns in ascending or descending order, click the column title on the patient roster. In this example, “Surgery/Procedure Date” was clicked to sort the patients into ascending order, which is indicated by the blue arrow to the right of the column title.

Quick Search
- Enter the patient's first name, last name, or patient ID in the Quick Search bar and click "Search" to filter the roster to that specific patient.
Note: The quick search is filter dependent, including quick filters. It will only display results for the patients within the current filter settings (e.g. if you are on the post-discharge tab, it will only display the patient if they are on that tab).
- To clear the filter, clear the search criteria and click 'Search" again.
Advanced Search
- Click "Advanced Search" (above the quick search bar).
- Select the criteria to search on (e.g. MRN, email, patient name, etc.).
- Select the patient from the list of matching results.
Note: the advanced search bypasses any filters and will display any patients enrolled that match the criteria.
