Creating your SeamlessMD Core Working Group

In order to have an optimal launch and guarantee the ongoing success of SeamlessMD at your institution, you must establish a "SeamlessMD Team" who will be involved in varying capacities.

Some team members may only be involved during the implementation, and others may be involved post-implementation once the program has launched.

Here is an outline of the types of roles that are typically involved in the implementation and launch of SeamlessMD programs.

Project Manager: This member will lead the implementation of the SeamlessMD program from the hospital side, They will help schedule meetings, coordinate clinical team member attendance, and identify internal workflows for the launch of the program.

Note: This may be an official project manager or a clinical/admin role designated as the project manager for SeamlessMD.

Operational Lead: The operational lead(s) will typically be an individual who works closely with the involved clinical teams and has an understanding of internal workflows (i.e. when patients are seen pre-op and in-hospital so that we can determine when they will be enrolled on to the SeamlessMD program).

*This individual may benefit from a clinical background if they are helping to select the alerts that can be turned on within the program (program manager, clinical lead, registered nurse, etc).

Physician Champion: This will be the lead provider to support  and give final sign-off on the program. They would be encouraged to attend weekly meetings, offer input on content, sign off on final content and alerts, and attend steering committee meetings.

Clinical Team Members: These are the team members that will participate in the weekly meetings to review and customize content within the program. The types of individuals included should depend on the program being developed, but may include physicians, physician assistans, registered nurses (pre-op, post-op), physiotherapists, dietitians, pharmacists, etc.

IT Project Lead: If your site is moving forward with any integrations with SeamlessMD, you will want to include a lead IT specialist to manage the integration implementation and ensure the right IT members are involved internally.

Along with the core team, we ask that hospitals outline which physicians will be involved in the project and will have their patients enrolled in the program. We collect the physicians' email addresses, phone numbers, and, often, their photo so that they are all included in the program.
